It’s easy! No documentation! No rules!
These are all things I heard when I started on my agile journey. I heard them and I believed them, but quickly these were dispelled.
Brief History of my Agile Journey
I have a depth of knowledge & experience in managing waterfall IT projects. During my 20 years with a global company, I was considered the expert and mentor in project management. In 2017 my manager said we were going to take scrum agile training. I went into the training with an open mind and left it thinking it was pure insanity and couldn't work. No requirements? No timelines? What?!
A coach came in to work with myself and 1 other project manager on a high profile project. They wanted it run agile. Over the next two months I was hooked. I began to understand the fundamentals and saw the benefits. I then went on to get formal training and certification for myself and our project managers. I pursued my own training and am now a Certified Scrum Professional (CSP-SM). I coached the teams and organization, both locally and globally, and planned and started on a Global Agile Transformation initiative. In reflecting on what I want my professional legacy to be, I realized that I am happiest while coaching and that's led me here today!
My Agile Superpower: Asking why.
I care and do my best to help you do your best, I look to understand what drives you, what business value are we driving.
A little about me, firstly, I don't like talking about myself, but here we go:
I'm born and raised in the suburbs of Montreal, Quebec. You guessed it, I'm a HABS fan! And also bilingual.
In 2007 my job provided an opportunity to move Toronto, <gasp> a Montrealer in Toronto... but I did it and I'm happy to say that I've settled quite nicely here.
When I'm not working with scrum teams or managing projects/programs, I can be found with my family. We are outside as much as we can, all seasons.
Another fun fact; For 10 years I represented Canada and the World Snow Festival in Grindelwald, Switzerland. Yup, I love winter so much I spent my holiday snow sculpting!
Your turn, don't be shy, I'd love for you to reach out and introduce yourself, no strings attached :)
Giving Back
I do believe that while helping others you also learn about yourself. Below are examples of how I give back.
